There are a few things I have done or enjoyed my entire life and, they are animals of all kind, music, dancing, singing, artwork, writing and gardening.
I turned my passion for animals into a thriving business for the past 20 years. You can learn more about that part of my life by visiting www.kandyskritterkare.com. I brought home more critters than you can imagine. Dogs, cats, chickens, snakes, hamsters, frogs and anything that would horrify my mother. Funny though, she never said no.
Growing up as the only child I learned to entertain myself at a very young age. Music was the first thing I experienced watching a local tv show very similar to American Bandstand. I was only 9 months old and I could walk. My mother put me in front of the television set in a play pen. I would hold on and bounce up and down moving side to side all the while keeping the beat of the music! Doing that put me in dance classes just before the age of 3 and lasted well into my 20's. I still dance while enjoying my favorite dose of music every single day. And believe me, I dance like no one's watching! You can't keep me still at a live concert! Can out dance most of the younger generations!
I always wanted to play some sort of musical instrument. Back in the day when music was still part of grade school curriculum they would give kids a music aptitude test to see what instrument they might be suited for. I was so excited when I brought home that little card with drums on it. It never crossed my mind my father would say not only "no" but "hell no." I was so disappointed. I'm sure he didn't want the noise and probably thought it to be a waste of time and money. I suggested the piano and guitar. All he said was, "you have your dance lessons."
In my early 20's my mom bought me a Fender folk guitar. I took a few lessons. Later on, I bought another Fender Sonoran which I still play on occasion. Wish I did it more often. I found a brand new Fender Stratocaster (red & white) at a pawn shop. It still had the original tags on it. I have absolutely no business owning it other than I think it is so cool! Hold on......it gets better. A few years ago, for my birthday, I bought a set of drums! Don't really play them well enough to own them but love playing them.....and yes, I do have a natural ability just like my grade school teacher had said.
